Redwick Church & Bus Shelter

Redwick Village NGR ST 413 841

Park in village centre by Memorial Hall and Pub.

Redwick is miniature English village planted on the reclaimed Gwent Levels. A triangle of roads encloses a fine 14th century church (open during daylight) with 1606 Flood marker on the porch. Alongside the church gate is the ‘bus shelter’ completed by local man, Hubert Jones, in 1971 and incorporating a host of local artefacts and agricultural byegones. These include Commissioners of Sewers signs, seawall maintenance markers (T for Tredegar estate) and some Roman and prehistoric finds. Netwrok of footpaths allow you to explore the village layout and take you west to the Broadmead, a medieval open field not enclosed till the late 19th century.
